Model United Nations

On 18 May, 3 groups of Year 12 /13 Marcellin students participated in the Model United Nations event (MUNA) held at Auckland Girls Grammar School. MUNA’s purpose was to simulate what it’s like to participate in a United Nations Conference for diplomacy, international negotiations and for the preservation of world peace. Our three teams had the pleasure to represent the countries Lithuania, Mali, and Kazakhstan.

While there we learnt new skills around diplomacy and improved our debating, communication and leadership skills. We also learnt more about current events and became more aware of the issues facing the world leaders today and it was fascinating to see how the youth would approach these issues.

It was a wonderful experience and we hope that other students will get the opportunity to experience this amazing event in the future. We would like to thank Ms. Metcalfe for organizing this opportunity and to Rotary for sponsoring us.
