Term Four Information

Kia ora Marcellin Whānau,

Welcome back! As you will already know, Week one of Term Four will be by distance Learning.

The Marcellin College Distance Learning website will be updated and published this Sunday afternoon, 3pm. This has all the information about what your tamariki / child(ren) will be learning for the week as well as resources for Hauora / Wellbeing support. It is important to note that Senior Practice Examinations will not go ahead this year and plans have been made to gather evidence for these external assessments.

An email will be sent to all ākonga / students today with more details about Term Four and learning from home. Please continue to encourage your tamariki to keep connected with their kaiako/ teachers and to do as much as they can – all the learning they do from home and at school will count towards their end-of-year achievement and progress.

At Alert Level 3, students under the age of 14 who have nobody at home to care for them can come on site to continue with their distance learning programme during school hours. Last term, we did not have any students registered. If you are a family whose circumstances have changed and will need this provision then please email Ms Hunt to apply for a place.

Be assured that we have strategies in place to ensure all of our learners can engage, achieve and complete the school year well. Further information will be published in our Newsletter early next week.

As we continue through October, let us remember the power of Prayer and depth of this through the Rosary. Please take time to ask for the prayers of our Beloved Mother whom I am sure is protecting all of our school community during this time.

Noho ora mai,

Dean Wearmouth
