Marcellin College is a ‘High Achieving’ school. We provide a Christ-centred, whānau environment with a wide range of authentic learning experiences that nurtures the gifts and talents of every ākonga, and stretches them to achieve their personal excellence.
Our responsive and inclusive curriculum covers the eight learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum, and with the support of our quality kaiako, in partnership with whānau, provides ākonga with innovative opportunities to ‘Seek the Best’!
Year 7 – 10 Ako
The Junior ako programme offers a variety of courses and learning experiences. The courses have either a specific learning area focus or a connected learning focus, where learning is designed around the integration of two curriculum areas to achieve deeper learning and ignite ākonga curiosity and love of work.

Year 11 – 13 Ako
Our senior ākonga consistently reach their personal excellence and achieve strong academic NCEA results.
The Senior ako programme consists of five courses that work towards gaining the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) qualification. Most courses have a specific learning area focus and there are also courses that provide deeper, connected learning opportunities.
