§ Foster a love of learning that will continue into adulthood by providing structured and engaging programs
§ Prepare the junior students well for studying English in the Senior School
§ Ensure strengths and weaknesses are promptly identified and addressed
§ Focus on literacy – developing students’ skills and interest in the basics of English, namely, reading, writing, listening, speaking, presenting, and viewing
§ Ensure the key competencies from the NZ Curriculum are developed: thinking, using language, symbols, and texts, managing self, relating to others, and participating
§ Provide well-managed classrooms so that every student meets his or her full potential.
